In 2024, Elanor was invited by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Global Innovation Hub to curate an exhibition on “tech-facilitated gender-based violence.” The foundation, known for its work in promoting democracy, human rights, and economic freedom, undertook this exhibition as its first major artistic initiative globally. Rather than using traditional issue panels or static artworks, Elanor and her curatorial partner, I-Ying Liu, proposed a more immersive approach. They commissioned artist Cheng Ting-Ting to create an installation titled “They told me it’s not your fault. And I told them everything will be fine."—an exhibition that also serves as a 20-minute immersive experience.
Visitors are guided by audio and visual cues on their phones, allowing them to navigate a series of stories crafted by the artist, and to inhabit both the roles of victim and perpetrator. This dual perspective creates space for discussion and reflection on the complex nature of tech-facilitated gender-based violence.
The show first appeared in 2024, and following its first edition in September 2024 to widespread acclaim, the exhibition has been represented at the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-LAB) and invited as an official side event of RightsCon 2025 in Taipei.
This work was selected as one of the 2025 Taiwan Design BEST100 by Shopping Design, placing it among the top 15 events and exhibition initiatives in Taiwan this year.
